One engine runs four verticals; plans differ by how many bookable calendars you need, never by feature or industry. The hospitality side covers the reservation diary, a drag-and-drop floor plan editor, sections and areas, table joins and priorities, deposits, guest profiles with visit history, SMS and email confirmations and reminders, and an embeddable booking widget. It also runs QR table ordering end to end: a menu builder with variants and modifiers, per-channel menus and pricing, card payment through Stripe, a live order screen, a kitchen display screen, kitchen docket printing over CloudPRNT, refunds and tax invoices. It includes a point-of-sale register: devices, staff shifts, cash drawers, a tender journal and end-of-day Z-reports. This is the part that distinguishes it. Most booking platforms end at the reservation; this one takes the booking, takes the order, takes the money and prints the docket in one system. The same engine runs an appointments mode for businesses that book people rather than tables. A service catalogue carries a price and a duration per service, with per-practitioner rate and duration overrides, clean-down time after an appointment held as unsellable diary time, split-shift rosters, per-practitioner day calendars, and deposits that release the slot automatically if the client does not pay. Double-booking is refused by a database constraint rather than by application logic, for both tables and practitioners. For automotive and trades it runs job intake: the booking captures the vehicle or job details up front, and the diary is organised around bays and technicians. For clinics and allied health it adds a client record with intake forms, clinical notes and retention controls. Intake is collected after the booking exists, and the schema makes it impossible for a form to stand in front of a booking: a client is never stopped from booking care by paperwork, and an abandoned form never costs the practice an appointment. Clinical notes are append-only and an amendment requires a stated reason. Every opening of a client file is logged, including access that was denied. Legal holds and a disposal ledger are built in. The retention default is seven years from last service, and to age 25 for minors, which is the NSW HRIPA baseline; a professional body's rule may be longer, and the period is configurable. For food service it includes an allergen guard: an allergen taxonomy, per-item and per-option declarations, contamination acknowledgements shown to the guest at the point of order, and an immutable snapshot of what was declared on each order. ## Why it exists BookMyVenue came out of IT support work for local businesses. The same failures kept showing up across the businesses being supported. Booking systems were built for the software company rather than the business. Customers gave up part-way through a booking. Fees grew exactly when the business did. Prices were only available through a sales call. No existing product fixed them, so BookMyVenue was built around those needs, to be as easy and seamless as possible for the customer and the staff. It never takes a commission or a percentage of a business's sales. It grows only when its customers do. ## Pricing (published, AUD, excluding GST) A seat is one bookable calendar: a person or resource whose diary can take bookings. Staff logins (owner, manager, front desk, bookkeeper, read-only) are unlimited and free. There is no per-venue or per-location charge. Every plan includes every vertical the engine runs: the hospitality diary and till, appointment scheduling, automotive intake, and the clinic module. Plans differ only by bookable calendars, never by feature or industry. - **Solo - $99 a month.** 1 bookable calendar. Extra calendars $50 a month each. - **Team - $199 a month.** 6 bookable calendars. Extra calendars $25 a month each. - **Crew - $299 a month.** 12 bookable calendars. Extra calendars $25 a month each. - **Group - $499 a month.** 30 bookable calendars. Extra calendars $10 a month each. There is no setup fee, no commission, no per-cover or per-booking charge, and no lock-in contract. Bookings are unlimited on every plan. SMS beyond a plan's included allowance is billed at cost, per message, with no markup. Card processing is Stripe's published rate, charged by Stripe, and is not marked up - see https://bookmyvenue.com.au/stripe-fees-australia.html ## Who it is for Pubs, hotels, clubs and RSLs, restaurants, bars and breweries, and multi-venue hospitality groups in Australia. Salons, massage and remedial clinics, allied health practices and other appointment-based businesses. Automotive workshops, mobile mechanics and trades. ## Who it is not for - Businesses that want a consumer marketplace to send them new customers. BookMyVenue does not run one and does not have a consumer audience to send. - Businesses outside Australia. Pricing, SMS rates, GST handling and support hours are Australian. - Clinics that need Medicare or health-fund claiming, or telehealth. Neither is built; claiming stays with whatever the practice uses today. - Enterprise groups who need venues reported on as one combined book. Each venue is reported on separately by design. ## Integrations POS through the Doshii middleware network, which is how the product reaches the major Australian POS systems. The mapping layer is vendor-neutral, so a POS Doshii carries can be mapped to the menu without new code. Payments are processed by Stripe. Card payments run online through Stripe; a card terminal on the counter is not live yet. Kitchen printing over Star CloudPRNT. The booking widget embeds in the business's own website as an inline element or a pop-up, supports a direct booking link and deep-links to a date, and forwards booking conversions to the site's dataLayer. Direct, certified integrations with individual POS vendors are not built. If a business needs one named specifically, ask rather than assume. ## How it differs Most Australian booking platforms do not publish a price; a business completes a demo form and receives a quote from a sales representative, so two comparable businesses can pay materially different amounts. SMS and online ordering are also commonly sold as separate monthly add-ons. BookMyVenue publishes every price on the pricing page, includes online ordering and SMS in the plan, never charges commission, and does not operate a consumer booking marketplace that competes with its own customers. The other difference is that the booking diary and the till are one system rather than two products joined together. The important guarantees are enforced by the system itself, not by a setting someone could switch off. Two bookings cannot take the same slot even under load. One business cannot read another business's records. Both are covered by automated tests. ## Questions this file answers - What does BookMyVenue cost, and what is included at each price? - Does it handle appointments, job intake and tables in one system? - Does it replace a POS, or sit next to one? - Does it take a commission or compete for the business's customers? - Is it suitable for a clinic that must keep auditable health records? ## Main pages - Home: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/ - Pricing (every plan published): https://bookmyvenue.com.au/pricing.html - Hospitality (pubs, hotels, clubs, restaurants): https://bookmyvenue.com.au/hospitality.html - Appointments and services: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/appointments.html - Automotive and trades: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/automotive.html - Clinics and allied health: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/clinics.html - Support: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/support.html - Contact / book a demo: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/contact.html - Quandoo alternative: https://bookmyvenue.com.au/quandoo-alternative.html ## Card payment fees: tools and reference data BookMyVenue publishes a free calculator and a set of sourced reference pages on what card processing costs an Australian business. Every rate is taken from the provider's own published pricing, is dated, and links to its source. Rates as at 14 August 2026; next scheduled review 2026-10-01. The machine-readable rate table behind every page is at https://bookmyvenue.com.au/data/card-fees-au.json and is free to use with attribution. **Regulatory position (verified against RBA and ACCC primary sources on 14 August 2026):** surcharging on eftpos, Mastercard and Visa ends 1 October 2026, because each network is introducing no-surcharge rules from that date after the RBA removed its prohibition on such rules. American Express has said it will remove surcharging on the same date. Until then the cost-of-acceptance cap applies and the ACCC enforces it. The RBA does not regulate merchants directly; merchants are bound through their acquirer or payment service provider.
